AltCareer provides jobs listings from employers that offer more than just a paycheque. Taking a fresh approach to the job listings space, AltCareer uniquely sets itself apart with clean visuals. It had to be pleasant to use from both design and usability perspectives, which we were able to accomplish.

Northfield Metal Products Website
Northfield Metal Products required a web presence to market it’s line of office chair components globally. The site features information about the company and it’s broad lineup of products.
CSSBI Website Refresh
The Canadian Sheet Steel Building Institute required a refresh to their website in order modernize their look in an effort to attract a larger audience. The homepage design in particular needed to highlight their News section as well as the primary product categories that the Institute promotes. As it is a large, information-heavy site, it was important to highlight the most important features and sections while keeping the look clean and organized.
Carbon Neutrality Study Website
The Canadian Sheet Steel Building Institute participated in a study to determine how the use of steel could be used to create a carbon neutral building. As part of educating the public about the findings, they came to us to develop a site for them that helped describe the project and it’s participants.
Speaker Icon
As an exercise, this icon was designed in the style of an iOS app icon using a multitude of layers and effects to achieve the final look. Created entirely in Photoshop, it was modeled after an actual desktop speaker but simplified to reduce complexities that may not translate well at small sizes.

Meet Carlos Perez
Carlos has over 15 years of experience in various design fields such as web design, print design/production, and industrial design. He is a graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration program from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
In the spring of 2008, Carlos left his position at Research In Motion to pursue running Perez Design + Communications full-time. Over the past several years, he's had the pleasure to work with various clients such as RIMOWA, CSSBI, Northfield Metal Products and Research In Motion.
